JOHN CARROLL

I was born in Dallas, Texas and attended Lewisville High School where I graduated in 1995. As a player, I have a State Championship from my Junior year. I am married to Cassy Carroll and I have two kids ages 19 and 24. I started coaching youth football in 2010 on the flag level. I then started the NTX Cowboys Organization in early 2011. In the past 10 years years we have accumulated 6 Super Bowl winning age groups with 2 more second-place finishes. We have captured 27 first-place tournament titles as well as 4 National Titles including the Snoop National Title, Texas Select National Title, and FCS National Title. My motto is "Football is 90% mental and 10% physical.”

IAN KELLY

Flag Head Coach

My name is Ian Kelly. I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to Denton, Texas with my family in 2021. I have been married to my lovely wife for 5 years and we have a beautiful blended family of 8 children.

I enjoy coaching youth football as I believe it offers an excellent opportunity for young boys and girls to learn discipline and structure. I have 12 years of coaching experience on all levels. I take great pride in teaching integrity to the kids for the game I grew up loving and still do.

Favorite quote, "When you stay ready, you never have to get ready."

ALBERT VELIZ

7U/8U Head Coach

I was born and raised in Miami, Fl. I am a veteran I served 4 years in the USMC. I have a 9yr old son. I played football from peewee through high school. Football is something I’m deeply passionate about. I am currently in school for Recreational, Events and Sports Management. I plan to use that degree to further my career in either coaching at the next level or becoming an Athletic Director.

I believe youth football plays an instrumental part in the growth of many of our youth. It is often times their first true lesson in team work and to an extent discipline. For many we are father figures and big brothers. It also builds character we teach them to be accountable and how to become leaders. I also believe it teaches them to deal not only with adversity but also with success. These are the many reasons why I coach youth football not only for the love of the game but for the impact I can have on their lives beyond the field.

LAWRENCE BREAUD

9U/10U Head Coach

I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I have been married for two years to my wife Jaz. We have two kids, a boy and a girl. I played football up to the collegiate level at Arizona State University and broke many high school records for the state of Louisiana. I began coaching youth sports 4 years ago when I started with John at the 13U level.

I enjoy coaching and helping the youth find that WHY and purpose. I view this opportunity as more than just a coaching job but showing kids how to be responsible for their own actions, how to respect each other and become great young men.

TREVENA BROWN-ROYAL

Cheer Director

Trevena was born and raised in Denton tx. She is married with a daughter and a bonus son. She is a former cheerleader who has been a youth cheer director for 10 years.

I absolutely love children and cheerleading. Cheerleading is a very rewarding and disciplined sport. My goal every season is to show my girls that cheer IS a sport, you CAN go to college for cheer, team work is a MUST, self confidence is KEY but most importantly HAVE FUN!!

I look forward to working with a new group of girls. And as my former girls know my favorite saying is "If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready." And I am definitely ready for this great season!

LENITA ENGLAND

Assistant Cheer Director

I was born in Dallas, Texas. I have one daughter, Madisen, who joined the formerly known Denton Spartans about three years ago. Although I started as a Cheer Mom, I’ve dedicated my off time to assist the Cheer Director and the team organization with numerous tasks and ideas to further progress the efficiency of the cheer team.

I enjoy the time that I’ve spent with the coaches, the girls, and their parents. My hope is that each girl has fun, meet new friends, experience new things, and continue to utilize the skills learned throughout their time on the team even after they depart from us. I’m excited to join the North Texas Cowboys in their time of greatness!

AVERY NOCKTONICK

I am Avery Nocktonick, Cowboys Cheer Coach. I was a cheerleader for 7 years (competitive & school cheer), and I did a little bit of dance and gymnastics. I coached recreational gymnastics for a little over a year, and this is my 2nd season coaching cheer! Coaching has become a huge passion of mine. I love working with kids, and helping them learn and grow. Let’s go Cowboys!
